Florida A&M head coach Willie Simmons has raved and declared Chili Davis as the offseason's best signing since joining as the special teams coordinator in May.
Davis, from Chester, Virginia, oversees the Rattlers' special teams unit led by AP All-American kicking specialist Chris Faddoul.
He's proficient and experienced at the job.
Prior to FAMU, Davis was the quality control analyst of for special teams at Washington during the 2021 season.
He also was the assistant special teams at New Mexico State along with coaching inside receivers and helped the team win the Arizona Bowl over Utah State in 2017.

Davis is an alumnus of Campbell University where he played cornerback for the Camels from 2008-2011. He began his coaching journey at his alma mater by serving as an assistant to the head coach.
Davis then would go on to Louisiana Tech as an offensive graduate assistant to work with the running backs.
He helped Bulldogs win the New Orleans Bowl, 47-28 over Arkansas State in 2015 while on the job before leaving for a cornerbacks coach job at Fordham.
