The Baltimore Ravens come into Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills with a 2-1 record, coming off of a Week 3 win against the New England Patriots. There has been plenty of talk surrounding the health of offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley and when he’ll make his return, and all indications point to him being back on the field soon, whether it’s in Week 4 or in the near future.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke about Stanley, and weighed in on what things will be taken into account when determining when Stanley will be able to get back on the field. He talked about how both what the team sees and how the offensive tackle feels are both contributing factors.

“Yes, it’s really just what we see, certainly, and what he feels. Those are the two things that both have to be taken into account. Ronnie [Stanley] is not going to want to go out there, and we’re not going to want him to go out there, if he doesn’t feel like he’s going to be good, if he’s [not] going to be ready to go. It’s a priority to go out there and be at his best when he comes back. At the same time, he’s going to have to jump in at some point, so it could be this week. We’ll just have to see…”

Offensive coordinator Greg Roman also shared his thoughts on Stanley and how he looks on the practice field.

“Ronnie [Stanley] is looking good. I really think he’s made some great strides. He’s out there – looks explosive. I mean, everybody is joking with him that he’s got fresh legs. But he’s looking explosive [and] as good as I’ve seen him look. He hasn’t played ball in about two years, though, so they’ll definitely be an acclimation period for him, which we’re going through now. And I love where he’s at. I was really encouraged by how he’s looking. I’d say arrow up all the way.”

The Ravens’ offensive line will be a better unit when Stanley gets back. All signs are pointing to some form of a return soon, and while the team would benefit from having him on the field in Week 4 against Buffalo, both sides need to be 100% sure that he’s good to go.
