Ravens DL Calais Campbell, CB Anthony Averett return to practice; 2 Browns starters added to reserve/COVID-19 list

Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, cornerback Anthony Averett and defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. returned Thursday to practice, where the Ravens had encouraging attendance ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Just five Ravens were absent for the open portion of the workout. Right tackle Patrick Mekari (hand), fullback Patrick Ricard (back) and tight end Nick Boyle were out for the second straight day, while left tackle Alejandro Villanueva and defensive tackle Brandon Williams were also missing. Both typically get a day off to rest during the week. Mekari is not expected to play this week.

Campbell (illness) and Averett (knee) missed Wednesday’s workout, along with Levine (knee), who jogged off the field early in Thursday’s practice.

In Cleveland, the Browns placed starting inside linebacker Anthony Walker Jr., the team’s leading tackler, and starting punter Jamie Gillan on the reserve/COVID-19 Thursday. Starting tight end David Njoku, the team’s leading receiver, was placed on the list Tuesday. Their availability for Sunday’s game is unclear.
