Ravens place G Ben Cleveland, TE Jake Breeland on nonfootball injury list

The Ravens placed rookie guard Ben Cleveland and tight end Jake Breeland on the nonfootball injury list Wednesday.

Teams often place players on the NFI list when they fail the team’s conditioning test upon reporting to training camp, as Cleveland did Tuesday. Breeland, who was sidelined as a rookie, sat out offseason workouts while recovering from a knee injury he suffered in 2019 at Oregon.

Both Cleveland and Breeland count against the Ravens’ 90-man roster and are permitted to attend meetings and take part in conditioning and rehabilitation drills. They can begin practicing when they are activated off the NFI list.

Ravens veterans are expected to report to Owings Mills on Tuesday, and the team’s first camp practice will be held Aug. 28.
