Injuries have played a big part in the 2021 season of the Baltimore Ravens thus far. The team has had to bring in many new faces to help soften the blow of losing so many players in such a short amount of time. However, Baltimore has still been able to put together a 2-1 record as they prove that they are a resilient organization time and time again.

The injury news hasn’t stopped for the Ravens, as on Monday the team announced that rookie outside linebacker Daelin Hayes has been placed on injured reserve ahead of their Week 4 matchup with the Denver Broncos.

Hayes made his NFL debut in Week 3 against the Detroit Lions after missing the first two games of his rookie season. However, He left shortly after kickoff after suffering an ankle injury, having to be helped to the sideline and eventually carted off of the field.

Injuries on defense have played a big part in some of the struggles the unit has faced thus far. The team placed two outside linebackers and two defensive lineman on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Friday, so Baltimore can’t afford to lose many more defensive lineman at this point. However, hopefully some of the players on the list can return soon.

Hayes will miss a minimum of three games and will be eligible to return for the Ravens’ Week 7 matchup against their division rival in the Cincinnati Bengals.

Baltimore also released wide receiver Devin Gray from their practice squad, leaving the team with one open spot there.
