Ravens QB Lamar Jackson talks about what it means to have K Justin Tucker in Baltimore
The Baltimore Ravens were able to come away with an exhilarating 19-17 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 3 of the 2021 season. Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker hit a 66-yard field goal as time expired to give the Ravens a two point victory, which is now the longest made field goal in NFL history.
After the game, Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson was asked about what it means to have Tucker on the team, and he pointed to how huge of a factor he is in what the Ravens do on the football field every week.
“No doubt, no doubt. He’s a huge part of our game. If we’re not getting it done, he’s going to come through and give us three points here, three points there. He did throughout the game, he missed one early on and came back and won us the game. That’s legendary right there. Can’t take nothing from that guy.”
As Jackson notes, Tucker missed a 49-yard field goal in the first quarter of the game against the Lions, but ended up coming back and hitting four kicks, including his record-breaking 66-yarder. Tucker has long been clutch at the NFL level, and he showed that once again on Sunday against Detroit in Week 3.
