The Ravens have signed cornerback Terrell Bonds and inside linebacker Kristian Welch from the practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of Sunday’s road game against the Indianapolis Colts.

With cornerback Marlon Humphrey on the reserve/COVID-19 list and inside linebacker L.J. Fort ruled out because of a finger injury, both Bonds and Welch could see expanded roles Sunday.

Bonds and Welch had already been promoted from the practice squad to the game-day roster twice this season. Under NFL rules, if they were promoted again, they would have to go through waivers before the Ravens could sign them back to the practice squad.

Bonds, a second-year player from Tennessee State, played seven special teams snaps in the team’s Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He also played the first 17 defensive snaps of his career in last Sunday’s 28-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Welch, an undrafted rookie from Iowa, has played a combined 41 special teams against the Steelers and in the team’s Week 6 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. He has yet to play a defensive snap.

The Ravens also placed wide receiver Chris Moore on injured reserve. Moore made his season debut last Sunday after missing the first six games with finger and thigh injuries. He was ruled doubtful to play because of a thigh injury.

The team earlier Saturday activated the remaining six players from the reserve/COVID-19 list who were high-risk close contacts to Humphrey. Two open spots remain on the 53-man roster and the team can also promote up to two practice squad players.
