Gov. Larry Hogan and the leaders of the General Assembly are holding a bill signing ceremony for the RELIEF Act of 2021, which provides immediate stimulus and tax relief to Maryland families and small businesses. State lawmakers on Friday passed the $1.5 billion proposal that will provide direct payments to Marylanders who filed for the earned income tax credit. The bill will also repeal state and local income taxes on unemployment benefits and allow businesses to keep up to $12,000 in sales tax collections.
