Ray Harrison leads charge in GCU win over Grambling State

GCU showed no signs of slowing down Friday night when the Antelopes took on the Grambling State Tigers. GCU went up early and led the entire first half after a dominant performance from sophomore guard Ray Harrison.

The Antelopes went on a 26-5 run in the first half and closed out with a 42-15 lead going into halftime in front of a 7,166 crowd at GCU arena.

GCU shot 48.15% from the field goal line in the first half Friday. They held the Tigers (2-1) to 20.69% shooting in the half while not giving up a 3-pointer.

The Antelopes carried that momentum into the second half, shooting 38.46% from the field goal line and 60% from the free throw line. In that time, they held the Tigers to just 3 3-pointers and a 44.44% shooting rate.

Harrison shot 9-11 and 5-6 3-pointers. Harrison led the charge for the Antelopes, scoring 25 points in 19 minutes of play. Junior guard and McClintock graduate Josh Baker, Basha graduate and redshirt junior forward Gabe McGlothan and graduate student forward, Desert Vista graduate Noah Baumann scored 10 points a piece for the Lopes.

GCU scored 39 points in the second half to Grambling State's 33, securing the 81-48 victory.
