Raymond teenager injured in two-vehicle crash Monday

Mar. 31—HANLEY FALLS — A Raymond teenager was injured following a two vehicle crash Monday evening in Yellow Medicine County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Leighton Riley Helmuth, 18, of Raymond, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Avera Granite Falls Health Center following the crash. William Joseph Robinson, 62, of Slayton, the driver of the other vehicle, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center.

According to the crash report, Helmuth was traveling northbound on 510th Street in a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix and Robinson was traveling southbound on Minnesota Highway 23 in 2002 Chevrolet Silverado when the vehicles collided around 6:04 p.m. Monday near Hanley Falls.

Both parties were wearing their seat belts and had their airbags deploy, according to the State Patrol. Road conditions were dry and alcohol was not involved.

The Upper Sioux Police Department, the Yellow Medicine Sheriff's Office, the Cottonwood Ambulance and the Hanley Falls Fire Department also responded to the crash.
