Rays report: Another new look to lineup

Rays manager Kevin Cash said he is searching for a lineup combination that flows better in terms of production and is trying another different look for tonight’s game against the Cardinals.

Manuel Margot is in the leadoff spot, and Harold Ramirez moves up to second. Kevin Kiermaier, who dropped from leadoff to fourth on Tuesday, is down to eighth.

Veteran Corey Kluber will start on the mound for the Rays with an interesting career line against Albert Pujols, who he has held to 1-for-20. Kluber, naturally, said it was just a matter of making some good pitches at times and being fortunate.

The Cardinals are using lefty Packy Naughton as an opener. Their lineup does not include either Albert Pujols or Yadier Molina.

Also of note:

* Cash said Shane Baz will be activated off the injured list to make his first start Saturday in Minnesota against the Twins.

* Taylor Walls’ three-run homer to win Tuesday’s game was the Rays’ first walkoff homer with two outs and two strikes since Sean Rodriguez had one on May 22, 2014. More impressive, it was the first with two outs and two strikes and the Rays trailing since Carl Crawford on opening day 2003.
