🌱RB Couple Fosters 150th Kitty + Bzzzz! + Influenza Deaths Rise

Hello, people of Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch! It's me again, Bettyann Pernice, your host of the Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch Daily.

First, your weekend weather: Low: 41.

Here are three of the top stories in Rancho Bernardo-4s Ranch today:

  1. Right now, the Rancho Bernardo couple have two cats in their happy home, but this is soon to change. Kitten season will be here shortly, and Betsy Huntington and Jim Mott will once again foster orphaned kittens through the San Diego Humane Society. However, this time will be extra special. They will soon be fostering their 150th kitten. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (The San Diego Union-Tribune)

  2. It’s like something out of a horror movie. Billions of genetically modified mosquitoes will buzz around California in an effort to fight mosquito borne diseases, such as: dengue, yellow fever, and Zika. However, not all scientists think it is a good idea. Find out why. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Patch)

  3. You’ve heard it all before: wash or sanitize hands often, avoid sick people, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, clean commonly touched surfaces, and get a flu shot. "While this flu season is relatively mild compared to many previous years, influenza-related deaths have already doubled from last season," said Wilma J. Wooten, M.D., M.P.H., county public health officer. "It is not too late to get a flu shot and protect yourself and your loved ones. The flu vaccine is safe and effective and is recommended for everyone six months and older." To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Press Release Desk)
