RCC to offer orientation for nursing program

Aug. 3—Rogue Community College will hold an orientation next week for people interested in the school's nursing assistant training program (NA1).

The free meeting is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in Room 140 at the RCC Health Professions Center, Table Rock Campus, 7800 Pacific Ave., White City.

While anyone can attend the meeting, attendance is required for students registering for the program, which they can do afterward.

NA1 is offered through RCC's Continuing Education department and consists of 155 hours of online and in-person training, though it does not go toward college credit. Students who complete the training program will be eligible to take the certification exam through the Oregon State Board of Nursing

The first three weeks of instruction are based in the Health Professions Center at Table Rock Campus. During the final three weeks, students take part in 75 hours of hands-on, supervised clinical training at a local health care facility.

The application for fall enrollment is due Aug. 23 for classes meeting Sept. 6 through Oct. 19. Spring term class dates are April 18 through May 31, 2023, with applications due by April 1.
