Exeter Hospital Echocardiography Lab earns Reaccreditation
EXETER — Exeter Hospital’s Echocardiography Lab has been granted a three-year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in Echocardiography in the areas of Adult Stress and Adult Transthoracic.
This latest accreditation awarded to Exeter Hospital Echocardiography Lab demonstrates the facility’s ongoing commitment to providing quality patient care in echocardiography.
Echocardiography is used to assess different areas of the heart and can detect heart disease or signs of serious conditions. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. According to the American Heart Association, more than 2,150 Americans die each day from cardiovascular disease, which is approximately one every 40 seconds.
Accreditation by the IAC means that Exeter Hospital Echocardiography Lab has undergone an intensive application and review process and is found to be in compliance with the published standards thus demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care in echocardiography. IAC accreditation is a “seal of approval” that patients can rely on as an indicator of consistent quality care and a dedication to continuous improvement.

Exeter Hospital has also received the American Heart Association’s Gold Plus Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Quality Achievement Award; the American College of Cardiology’s Cardiac Cath Lab Accreditation with PCI; and Acute Stroke Ready certification through DNV GL Healthcare.
Lamprey Health Care achieves Health Center Quality Leader – Gold Level
NEWMARKET – Lamprey Health Care has received five Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) awards from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). HRSA recognizes health centers who have earned CHQR badges annually. The badges recognize health centers that have made notable quality improvement achievements in the areas of access, quality, healthy equity, health information technology, and COVID-19 public health emergency response.

Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality – Recognizes health centers that meet all criteria to optimize HIT services including:
Adopted an electronic health record (HER) system
Offers telehealth services
Exchanges clinical information electronically with key providers health care settings
Engages patients through health IT
Collects data on patient social risk factors
Addressing Social Risk Factors – Recognizes health centers that are screening for social risk factors impacting patient health and are increasing access to enabling services.
COVID-19 Public Health Champion – Recognizes health center contributions to provide critical public health services to health center services during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This badge is awarded to the top 10% of health centers that provided COVID-19 vaccinations and/or COVID-19 diagnostic testing to the largest proportion of health center patients.
Patient Centered Medical Home Recognition – Recognizes health centers with PCMH recognition in one or more delivery sites.

Foundation for Seacoast Health supports the Seacoast with three new community grants
PORTSMOUTH — Arts in Reach has been selected as the first recipient of the Terry Morton Award for At-Risk Youth. The $25,000 grant will fund a pilot project to provide mental health support to participants of the AIR core arts and mentoring programs. Services will be provided through a partnership with Greater Seacoast Mental Health to help youth develop social and emotional strategies to manage the stressors they face in their daily lives. AIR empowers teenage girls and gender expansive youth ages 11 to 22 through an inclusive, creative community.
As a founder of the Foundation for Seacoast Health, Terry Morton was passionate about serving the needs and wellbeing of seacoast area youth. He understood the value of building resiliency in teens and the importance of supportive adults and mentors in their lives. Terry was dedicated to efforts to provide young people with opportunities to reach their full potential and enter early adulthood with the skills, self-esteem, and confidence they need to make sound decisions and healthy life choices. This award will be given annually to support his dedication to helping young people in need.
The Foundation for Seacoast Health Trustees have also approved two convening grants to support the community. These grants, awarded to Pinetree Institute, will be used to assist with convening and facilitating the Seacoast Coordinated Response to Substance Use Disorder and the Greater Portsmouth Youth Wellness Coalition. A $30,000 one-year grant will support the continued work of the Coordinated Response coalition with the goal of leading the Portsmouth community to its vision of becoming a Recovery Ready Community.
The second grant is a $25,000 two-year grant awarded to support the Youth Wellness Coalition. These funds will help this community partnership begin the convening work of developing a clear understanding of the challenges facing youth and identify evidence-based solutions that mitigate risk factors and promote sustainable well-being for seacoast area young people. Pinetree Institute, a non-profit based in Eliot, Maine, with offices in Portsmouth, facilitates several approaches designed to solve one key issue: the long-term effects of trauma on individuals, and the communities in which they live.
These grants point to the Foundation’s renewed vision as a grantmaking organization that is committed to lead the advancement of a healthy Seacoast community through initiatives that impact and promote the well-being of its residents.
