Reactions: Clay Johnston makes stop for Bengals on 2-point try by Titans' Derrick Henry

The Cincinnati Bengals got a huge defensive stop during the second quarter of Saturday's 19-16 playoff win against the Titans in Nashville from a player who didn't start the season with the team and didn't have a tackle in last week's win against the Raiders.

Linebacker Clay Johnston stopped Titans running back Derrick Henry on Tennessee's 2-point conversion attempt that followed his touchdown. Tennessee opted to go for two points instead of trying an extra point after a penalty against the Bengals.

The game remained tied at 6 after Johnston's stop. Later in the second quarter, Evan McPherson's third field goal of the game gave the Bengals a 9-6 lead.

"This goes to all coaches out there. And I don't want to upset people from MIT, Harvard or Yale. Don't go for two until you have to. That's my algorithm, and I'm gonna stick to it," former Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason said of the Titans' 2-point attempt during CBS' halftime show.

Johnston made 12 tackles in the regular-season finale against Cleveland, but only had five tackles in five games with the Bengals before that. The Bengals acquired Johnston on waivers from the Carolina Panthers in November.
