Reactions to Jordan Marshall’s surprise commitment to Michigan football

The tide has fully turned toward Michigan football over rival Ohio State.

Not only have the Wolverines beaten the Buckeyes in back-to-back meetings on the field, but the maize and blue just did what’s recently been thought as unthinkable: pulled a top-tier player out of Ohio that OSU wanted. That player? Elite running back Jordan Marshall out of Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller.

Naturally, Ohio State sites are a little bit salty:

OSU doesn’t lose top-tier Ohio prospects to Michigan often, as Marshall is the first top-100 nationally-ranked player in 247Sports’ composite rankings from Ohio to choose the Wolverines since Dymonte Thomas in the 2013 recruiting class.

The news is obviously a blow to Ohio State, who would have much preferred to keep Marshall in-state instead of facing him on a yearly basis. But the Buckeyes don’t have a shortage of options to turn to now that Marshall is no longer in the picture.

Beyond the sites out there, Twitter was full of reactions from the media, commits, recruits, staffers, and more, delighting with joy — or lamenting the loss, depending on what side of the media you’re on.
