“I read to fourth grade students at Cunningham Creek Elementary in St. Johns County,” Hughes said. “We talked about our favorite books, their career goals and even my home state of North Carolina.”

Turner was a special guest at Hendricks Avenue Elementary School in Duval County for the “Read with the Stars” event. Her book of choice was Who Will I Be?

Lopez, who read to students at Crown Pointe Elementary in Jacksonville, chose the book, Boundless Grace by Mary Hoffman. The book was selected for its importance that the reading comes just ahead of Black History Month and is in celebration of blended families and single parent families.

All of the students, families, teachers and staff had an amazing time.
