Haley would restore sanity to White House

Like many of my fellow South Carolinians, I embrace my independent spirit and vote for the best person. It has been a long time since any candidate for president of the United States has been close to my values. But, as of now, there is a choice in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Nikki Haley is a young, sane, compassionate, and experienced candidate who also happens to be a woman. (As a son, husband, father, and grandfather of strong, independent women, I believe that is an asset.)As the daughter of legal immigrants, she understands diversity. As a successful former South Carolina governor, she understands and fights for the needs of the people. As a former United Nations ambassador, she knows many of the world's leaders and understands world politics. As the spouse of an American military officer, she understands soldiers, veterans, and their families. It is time to stop the chaos of Donald Trump and the age-related concerns of Joe Biden.Early voting is open in South Carolina, so please vote for Nikki Haley on or before Feb. 24.Let's bring sanity back into the White House.Kenneth James Nelson

Haley is a 'not very deep' neocon

Nikki Haley is an opportunist, with no real talent, and not very deep, just a neocon promoting entanglements in foreign conflicts that do not imperil U.S. national security and only promote the military-industrial complex and the hordes of neocons pushing for think-tank jobs or to feed from the trough.

Her foreign policy record is a disaster... just like all the neocons who have ruined the reputation of the United States that far greater men spent centuries to establish. Dwight Eisenhower would not allow her to shine his shoes and would have no time for a neocon supporting the military-industrial complex.

S.C. women should support 'native daughter' Haley

If no men will listen, the women of South Carolina should vote for a native daughter. It only makes sense.

Nikki Haley has flaws and baggage, but she is strong and tough and does the right thing at the end of the day.

A great day in S.C.? How about a great day in the nation? She can only help us.

What have S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster and others done for us lately? Or Donald Trump?

Nation can do better; Haley is best choice

We are in the process of selecting the next president of the United States, presumed to be a contest between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. That is a choice between two unsatisfactory candidates.

Biden’s competence is obviously declining. His ability to make sound decisions during long, stressful situations is uncertain. He appears not to recognize his limitations and how they could result in delayed, poor or terribly wrong decisions affecting the country.

Trump presently faces 91 criminal counts in four major indictments. In one case, the judge found that he engaged in persistent fraud (he lied). He continues to lie about the results of the 2020 election in spite of more than 60 legal challenges where none found evidence sufficient to change the election results. The Jan. 6 committee of the U.S. Congress issued a report that referred charges against Trump, including obstruction, conspiracy and inciting insurrection.

How can Trump be considered worthy of the public trust and fit to hold the office of president of the United States? How can voters, especially those with strong ethical or religious standards, blithely ignore Trump's character?

At what point does integrity matter?

We can do better. There is an option.

Consider Nikki Haley.

Haley is 'new generational leader' U.S. needs

I believe character and integrity matter.

We have an opportunity to speak up in South Carolina and to pick a confident, graceful, and knowledgeable leader in Nikki Haley. She served us well as governor, and she is the new generational leader our country needs.

Haley would solve our border crisis, curtail spending to bring inflation down, bring peace through strength, keep taxes low and drive economic growth higher while respecting all Americans.

Imagine a president who respects our military and our women! Imagine a president who is coherent and makes sense!

Any registered voter in SC can vote for Nikki Haley in the Republican primary, so long as that voter did not already vote on Feb. 3 (in the Democratic primary). Your vote in the GOP primary would send Donald Trump a message and move Nikki forward.

Let’s all get out and vote between now and Feb. 24 and make our voices heard.

Visit scvotes.gov to see how to vote early or to see where you can vote on Feb. 24.

Why a vote for Haley in S.C. primary is important

It's more important than ever to vote for Nikki Haley in the upcoming GOP primary.

Why does Donald Trump have such a commanding lead when he is getting older, is confused, faces 91 felony charges, is disrespectful to women, invited Russia to invade NATO countries, wants to do away with the Constitution, wants a stock market crash, and forced the border bill to be voted down? He has so much support because Republicans won't go up against him. Republicans won't go up against him because they’re afraid to alienate Trump's base. So we have to go after Trump’s base if we want to avoid having Trump become president.

The base are the people voting in the primary. If you want your children to grow up in a democratic society with a functioning government, have rights guaranteed by the Constitution, a stable economy, and a clean and healthy environment, then you must vote for Nikki Haley and not Donald Trump.
