Reading Eagle: Albright women defeat Alvernia in college basketball

Dec. 9—Gabby Boggs enjoyed another outstanding all-around game to lead the Albright women past Alvernia 65-54 in a MAC Commonwealth basketball game Wednesday night at Jack McCloskey Court.

Boggs, a 6-0 senior, had 19 points, 14 rebounds, five blocked shots and four steals for the Lions (1-1, 5-3). She leads the conference in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage.

Maggie O'Hare had 18 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots for Albright, which had 23 second-chance points on 23 offensive rebounds. Brady Wassel had 11 points and 20 rebounds, Amina Rauf had nine points and Berks Catholic grad Abby Gaffney had six assists.

Cathryn Kramer had 13 points, 10 rebounds and six blocked shots for Alvernia (0-3, 3-5), which was outrebounded 56-43.

Men

Gettysburg 99, Penn State Berks 75: Tuesday at Berks Campus, Jared Houck scored a game-high 22 points and Jeff Lorah had 13 as the Nittany Lions (0-7) lost to the Bullets (5-2) in a non-conference game.

Ryan McKeon scored 16 points to lead Gettysburg, which led 49-31 at halftime.
