Reading Eagle: Asking Alexandria, Nothing More to headline concert at Santander Arena

Mar. 7—British rockers Asking Alexandria will headline a concert May 29 at Santander Arena, Reading, along with Nothing More, plus special guests Atreyu and Eva Under Fire. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com.

Since 2008, Asking Alexandria have established a world of rock music that is completely their own. Now, over a billion cumulative streams and views later, and with a new label, Better Noise Music, behind them, the band is ready for its next chapter.

In the early months of 2021, all five members found themselves hunkered down in a house in Franklin, Tenn., to write and record their new seventh studio album, "See What's on the Inside." It was the first time in over a decade that all were together in the same studio. They went back to their roots and pulled inspiration from some of their earliest influences and musical heroes, including Led Zeppelin, Metallica, AC/DC and Queen.

And in January, they followed that up with the EP "Never Gonna Learn."

In the band's 10-plus years as a worldwide touring and recording force, they have achieved unprecedented success earmarked by two gold-certified singles — "Final Episode (Let's Change the Channel)" and "Not the American Average" — and three consecutive Top 10 debuts on the Billboard Top 200 — "Reckless & Relentless" (2011), "From Death to Destiny" (2013) and "The Black" (2016).

Their 2017 self-titled LP spawned two of the group's biggest singles: "Alone in a Room" (60 million Spotify streams) and "Into the Fire" (50 million Spotify streams). And they also saw critical acclaim with their 2020 sixth full-length studio album, "Like a House on Fire."

Nothing More formed in 2003 in San Antonio, Texas. Their 2016 album, "The Stories We Tell Ourselves," earned the band three Grammy Award nominations:r best rock album, and best rock song and best rock performance for the single "Go to War."
