Reading Eagle: Brandywine Heights, Exeter, Gov. Mifflin drop District 3 boys volleyball quarterfinals [updated]

May 22—Braydon Ambruster had 13 kills, five digs, two aces and one block for seventh-seeded Brandywine Heights, which lost 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-21) to second-seeded York Suburban in a District 3 Class 2A boys volleyball quarterfinal Saturday at York.

Seamus Coffin had 20 assists and four digs for the Berks League Division II champion Bullets (13-7). Evan Stoudt had seven kills, seven digs and two kills and Dylan Miller had three blocks and two kills for the Bullets.

Two Berks League teams lost on the road in Class 3A quarterfinals and also saw their seasons end.

At Harrisburg, ninth-seeded Gov. Mifflin (15-5), the Berks League champ, lost 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-22) to top-seeded Central Dauphin (17-0). Tyler Knoop had five kills and three aces for the Mustangs and Jeremiah Aulenbach had five kills and two blocks.

Fifth-seeded Exeter (14-3), the Berks I champ, lost 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-17) at fourth-seeded Warwick (15-1). Chase Nugent had 10 kills and three digs for the Eagles, Logan Reber had 24 assists and 10 digs, Gaige Gabriel had eight kills and five digs, James Ganster had five kills and three blocks, Kellen Boyer had three kills and five blocks and Jack Forry had 12 digs.
