Reading Philharmonic to present a concert at Exeter church [Religion Digest]

Feb. 4----The Reading Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Michael Slechta, will present a concert on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, with music from operas, films and Broadway musicals. A free will offering will be taken. Worship will be Sunday at 8:30 a.m., with Holy Communion, and at 10:30, with Holy Communion and music by the Reformation Choir, under the direction of Dr. Heidi Rochlin. The worship service will be livestreamed on Reformation's Facebook page and may be viewed live or later at www.Reformationlutheran.org under worship videos.

—Zion's Lutheran Church, 354 Zions Church Road, Perry Township, will host Common Ground Ministry at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, with Holy Communion. The Rev. Tom Scornavacchi serves this ministry and will be the presenter of this worship community based on 12-step spirituality and Lutheran faith. The recovery ministry reaches people dealing with addiction seeking wholeness in their lives. A special offering will be received to support Common Ground. The service will be in person, on Facebook Live and on the church website. Sunday school will be held at 9:15.

—Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Washington Township, will worship Sunday at 9 a.m., with Holy Communion. Coffee & Conversation will be held at 8:30 and 10 in the Welcome Center. The adult Sunday school class will gather in the parlor at 10.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will hold in-person worship Sunday at 9 a.m., with Holy Communion and special music. The service also will be livestreamed on Facebook.

—St. John's Gernant's Church (A Federated Congregation), 13 Gernant's Church Road, Ontelaunee Township, will worship Sunday at 9:30 a.m., with Holy Communion, in the Memorial Hall, 12 Gernant's Church Road, which is handicap accessible. Special music titled "Here I Am Lord" will be an instrumental trio by the Rev. Fran Merkel, pastor; Rich Koenig; and Shirley Breininger, who will be musician for the service.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will worship on Sunday at 9:30 a.m., livestreamed on YouTube (St. John's ELC Boyertown). Children's Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. Free drive through, take-out meal every Saturday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.
