Reading Royals announce 2023-24 schedule
May 25—The Reading Royals released their 2023-24 schedule on Thursday.
Reading will begin next season with a three-game series at Newfoundland, with the opener set for Friday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m. The series will be a rematch of the 2023 ECHL North Division finals, which concluded earlier this month and saw the Growlers defeat the Royals 4-1 in the best-of-seven series.
The Royals will begin their home slate on Saturday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. against Trois-Rivières in the first of a two-game series. Reading's final home game of the season is set for Saturday, April 13, at 7 p.m. against Orlando.
The Royals will play 36 home games at Santander Arena. Nineteen of those games will take place on a Friday night, Saturday or Sunday.
In addition to games against the six other teams in the ECHL North Division — Newfoundland, Trois-Rivières, Maine, Worcester, Adirondack and Norfolk — the Royals will play five opponents from outside the division. Reading will play one game at Toledo and three at Idaho, host Kalamazoo and Orlando for two-game series, and play nine times against Wheeling.
