Reading Royals return to Santander Arena for home opener on Saturday night
Oct. 28—Reading Royals hockey will return to Santander Arena on Saturday night.
Reading will host Indy at 7 p.m. in the Royals' 2022-23 ECHL home opener. The two teams will play again on Sunday at 3 p.m. to conclude the two-game series.
Festivities for Saturday's home opener will begin at 3 p.m. with a block party on Penn Street in front of Santander Arena. The block party will include games, smash-a-car, a red carpet introduction for Reading coaches and players and a free concert featuring the Spin Doctors.
The Royals enter their home opener in search of their first victory of the season after being swept by Newfoundland in a three-game series to begin the season. Reading was outscored by the Growlers 14-7 in the series.
