Has everyone recovered from the big New Year’s Eve weekend?

Hope so, because there’s another slate of fun events on tap this weekend in Volusia-Flagler to keep the momentum going into the early weeks of 2024.

Here are some of the best bets for the weekend:

Latin fest returns in Deltona

The sound of rumba rhythms and the enticing aroma of traditional delicacies will fill the air at the 27th Annual Latin Arts & Music Festival on Saturday at Dewey O. Boster Park in Deltona.

Sponsored by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central Florida, the free family-friendly event celebrates Latin culture with ample amounts of music, cuisine, folkloric art, children's activities in a free kids’ zone, food trucks, beer, an afternoon parade and more.

The event also is a celebration of Three Kings Day, a traditional Hispanic holiday that revolves around the presentation of gifts left for children by the Three Kings of the East.

The free event runs from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday at Dewey O. Boster, 1200 Saxon Blvd., Deltona. Visit hispanicchambercfl.org for details.

Symphony Society embraces Gershwin, Rachmaninoff

The Daytona Beach Symphony Society will present a performance of signature works by George Gershwin and Sergei Rachmaninoff performed by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra at 3 p.m. Sunday at Peabody Auditorium.

Under the baton of musical director Courtney Lewis, the orchestra will be joined by classical pianist and composer Conrad Tao, whose compositions have been commissioned by the New York Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony and Dallas Symphony Orchestra.

The program will feature Gershwin’s famed “Rhapsody in Blue,” as well as Rachmaninoff’s “Piano Concerto No. 4,” both renowned for virtuosity and emotional depth.

The concert also will showcase Jessie Montgomery’s contemporary piece, “Strum,” and composer Carl Nielsen’s “Inextinguishable Symphony.”

An art-filled walk in Ormond Beach

The monthly first-Saturday Ormond Beach Art Walk again offers an opportunity to stroll and survey the works in an array of the city’s fine art galleries  — Ocean Art Gallery, Frame of Mind, Art Spotlight, The Studio by Artist Angel Lowden — as well as the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens.

Guests also are invited to visit additional downtown shops featuring artists for the evening. An Art Walk shuttle sponsored by Advent Health will make it easy to visit venues on both the east and west side of the Granada Boulevard bridge.

The event runs from 3-7 p.m. Saturday along Granada Boulevard in Ormond Beach. Free admission. Visit ormondbeachmainstreet.com for details.

Check out RVs

If you’re hankering to hit the open road, you can check out a vast assortment of state-of-the-art recreational vehicles at the Daytona Beach RV Show, running daily through Sunday in the front parking lot of Daytona International Speedway.

Organizers tout the event as a chance to compare models side-by-side in search of the perfect camper van, motorhome or trailer RV for lifestyle or budget. The show will feature both new and used vehicles.

Hours are 9 a.m.-dusk daily through Sunday at the Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach. Free parking and admission. Visit rvshowusa.com for details.

In Flagler, Farmer’s Markets abound

If you’re in search of fresh fruit, vegetables, locally created arts and crafts or just quality people-watching, two farmers markets will be open this weekend to scratch that itch.

On Saturday, the Flagler Beach Farmers Market will present its array of vendors from 8 a.m.-noon at Wickline Park, 315 South 7th St. in Flagler Beach. It’s free admission.

On Sunday, the European Village Farmers Market operates from noon-4 p.m. at the Village, 101 Palm Harbor Parkway, Palm Coast. It’s also free admission.
