Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have responded to the rumours that they are getting divorced.

Reports have circulated in the last few days that Kyle – who is an original cast member of the reality series – and her Buying Beverly Hills star husband had separated after nearly three decades of marriage.

However, the couple has since released a joint statement on Instagram shutting down talk of a divorce, though they did reveal it has been "a rough year" for their relationship.

"In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue," they said. "However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage.

"But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone's part," the statement continued.

"Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative. Thank you for your love and support."

In other Real Housewives of Beverly Hills news, earlier this year star Denise Richards confirmed her return to the show after last appearing in season 10 – though this time she will appear as a guest star.

"I have filmed some episodes," she told Variety. "And it’s been fun. And you know, I’m a big fan of the show, so it was fun to go back and film a lot of stuff with them."

Denise further explained that her comeback came about when she attended a screening with one-time co-star Garcelle Beauvais, adding: "This all just happened recently on the spur of the moment.

"I was at her screening as a friend — like a real friend — I didn’t tell anyone I was gonna be there. Production didn’t know. I just showed up, like, for real life, as a real friend in real life."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo in the US, and on ITVBe and Hayu in the UK.
