This Real Housewives of Miami star just announced her pregnancy. Now, a family tragedy

Roughly two weeks after announcing her pregnancy, Dr. Nicole Martin got hit with tragedy.

The “Real Housewives of Miami” star, 39, announced on Instagram on Sunday that her father, Miguel Alberto Martin, had suddenly passed. The cause of death was not immediately announced.

“I haven’t been able to find the words and still can’t,” Martin captioned several touching throwback photos. “Part of me is still waiting for one of your crazy phone calls. So many things left unsaid and moments we didn’t share. Trying not to dwell on the missed moments and focusing on the improvements we made.”

The reality newbie may have been referring to the Season 5 finale when she did a joint therapy session with him in an effort to improve their fractured relationship.

“My dad is an old-school Cuban man and my dad is used to living his best life with little regard for anyone else,” explained the UM anesthesiologist, who was raised by her mother, Sirel Velez Martin.

Martin explained that he distanced himself from his daughter while she was growing up because “I didn’t know how to do anything else any other way.”

The expectant mother of one, who is engaged to local attorney Anthony Lopez, is due in April; the Coral Gables couple also share a son Greyson, 4.

The Bravolebrity told UsWeekly that she was feeling good in her second trimester while at BravoCon in New York earlier this month.

“I’m getting a little more energy back,” she said, adding that “the fans give me all the energy that I need.”
