Monique Samuels departed and Mia Thornton joined as a fiery newcomer to the group

After a physical altercation divided the ladies during Season Five, Season Six offered the group a chance to repair old wounds and build new friendships.

The departure of Monique Samuels brought a new housewife, Mia Thornton into the fray, giving the group an injection of new blood that kept things quite interesting.

Thornton’s major sparring partner was Dillard Bassett. Their feud culminated in a dramatic salad toss. It doesn’t seem that any salad will be tossed during Season Seven, but we’ll just have to wait and find out.

Dillard Bassett's mama drama continued as she experienced new highs in her music career

Throughout her time on the show, Dillard Bassett has let viewers in on her tumultuous relationship with her mother, Dr. Dorothy.

At the start of Season Six, Dillard Bassett made a concerted effort to break away from her mother’s financial assistance, leaving the townhouse that her mother co-owned with her and buying a house with her husband, Chris.

Even though the Bassetts broke free from Dr. Dorothy financially, Dillard Bassett showed off a cardboard cutout of her mother in a room of her new home.

An area where Dr. Dorothy remained present as ever? Dillard Bassett's career as vocal artist.

During Season Six, Dillard Bassett dove into her music career, with her husband, Chris, jumping in as her manager. She invited her cast mates and mother to be in a music video for her song 'Drive Back,' and you never would've guessed it, but drama erupted!

At the shoot, cameras caught Dr. Dorothy talking about her daughter and son-in-law in not the most favorable light. As complications arose at the shoot, Chris showed up to remedy them ... causing the group to question Chris' involvement.

Thornton asked Dr. Dorothy if Chris was getting paid to be Dillard Bassett's manager. Things broke loose from there, stirring up drama that lasted through the rest of the season.

Bryant, Dixon and Osefo sparred over rumors about Osefo's husband

After Bryant brought rumors to the group about alleged infidelity by Osefo’s husband, Bryant and Osefo went head to head with Bryant’s fellow “gree-eyed bandit” jumping in to assist her.

The Season Six reunion saw the trio continuing to go at it, with Osefo bringing a printed poster board of Dixon’s texts about Osefo's husband’s alleged infidelity to the reunion stage.

The Season Seven trailer appears to show an interaction between Osefo and Bryant, where Osefo says, “I just wanted to say hi!”

“Yeah, don’t touch it, I’m good. Buh-bye,” Bryant responds.

Chatter about infidelity will rock the 'P' during Season Seven

During Season Six, Huger and husband Raymond (Ray) Huger renewed their vows in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary — but the Potomac rumor mill is coming for the lovebirds.

The Season Seven trailer shows Dillard Bassett telling Darby that Huger was allegedly “sneaking out of town with someone who wasn’t Ray."

However, Dillard Bassett also appears to be having marital problems of her own. In one scene, Darby tells Dixon that she got a confusing Instagram DM from Dillard Bassett's husband.

“Shoulda come to the W” the message read, referencing a hotel restaurant.

“Who were you at the W with?” Darby asks Dixon, confused. “Not your wife!”

Bassett addressed the DM drama on Twitter.

When people online asked why he invited Darby, he tweeted that he "invites everybody" because he "(runs) the rooftop there."

Not only that, but Gizelle Bryant called Dillard Bassett’s husband a “sneaky link” and said that he put her in a situation that made her feel very uncomfortable.

Dixon also isn't free from the drama this season. She's heard telling a legal consultant that she wants to get a prenup before marrying Juan Dixon, her former husband, the second time around.

“Are there clauses about infidelity?” she asks.

Bryant's love life seems to be a topic of conversation too as Dillard Bassett and Osefo question whether Bryant is sleeping with Peter Thomas, the ex-husband of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Cynthia Bailey.

Ashley Darby enters a new era during Season Seven

In an exclusive statement to Bravo's Daily Dish in April 2022, Darby confirmed her separation from her husband, Michael Darby, leaving fans excited to see how Darby would traverse the newest chapter of her life.

The trailer shows Bryant asking Darby, "You and Michael are getting a divorce?"

"We are," Darby confirms.

Later on in the trailer, Darby announces that she's buying a house with her estranged husband, leaving Huger and Bryant confused.

“This is not no damn divorce,” Huger says.

“You don’t buy a house with a man you are divorcing,” Bryant adds.

The trailer also shows Darby and Dilliard Bassett talking about Darby's alleged involvement with a hockey player, now that she's an almost single woman.

With a smile, Darby says, "I was with a hockey player?"

"You're laughing, you're turning red!" Dilliard Bassett responds with a laugh.

Mia Thornton's cancer scare becomes a hot topic for the ladies

In the trailer, a revelation about Thornton's health causes a stir amongst the ladies.

On February 25, 2022, Thornton posted, "Same time last week, Doc called at 7:31am — Mia I’m so sorry but your test results came back and I need you to go to Johns Hopkins Cancer Center today for further evaluation."

The trailer shows Dixon saying, "What is this activity on social media? I'm sick, I'm not sick," implying there is more to the story.
