What is it really like living and working in downtown Cincinnati?

Many of us work or have spent time in downtown Cincinnati, but what is it really like to live there day-to-day? As part of The Enquirer's Future of Downtown project, two reporters, Emily DeLetter and Haadiza Ogwude, decided to show you.

Both took a day and filmed their experiences living, working and socializing Downtown: Emily's during a weekday and Haadiza's on a weekend.

Emily DeLetter's weekday in the life living Downtown

5:30 a.m.: I wake up on a Wednesday in April and get ready for work.

6 a.m.: I begin my workday. I work the morning shift for our News of Now team, meaning I'm on early to catch news that developed overnight and get early morning alerts, like weather, ready for readers as they wake up and begin their morning commutes.

7 a.m.: I log in my morning meeting where we discuss any new news and begin to plan for the upcoming day.

7:30 a.m.: I head to Deeper Roots, a close walk from my apartment, to grab a morning coffee.

9 a.m.: I decide to go into The Enquirer office. I live about a five minute walk, which is great when it comes to saving on paying for daily Downtown parking.

1 p.m.: My team heads to Fountain Square to play pickleball for a TikTok. We all plan and film videos and manage the account together.

2:30 p.m.: I walk to the dentist. My dentist office (along with many of my other health care providers) are located Downtown, making my commute simple. It's a very walkable neighborhood and even if the walk is too long, I can simply hop on the Connector streetcar and head to my destination for free.

6 p.m.: I pick up my boyfriend and bring him Downtown. We headed to one of our favorite spots, the Blind Pig, for drinks.

7:30 p.m.: After drinks, we walk to Smale Riverfront Park at The Banks to sit on the swinging chairs and enjoy the beautiful sunset.

9 p.m.: We finally walk back home and watch some TV before going to bed.

Editor's note: DeLetter has since taken a job with USA Today.

Haadiza Ogwude's weekend day in the life living in Downtown

7:00 a.m.: I wake up, brush my teeth, complete my morning skin care routine and get dressed for the day.

8 a.m.: On this Saturday in May I take my puppy Chika to Banfield Pet Hospital in Westwood for her spay surgery. One of the great things about Parker Flats apartments is that it comes with a private parking garage which is included in the price of my rent.

8:30 a.m.: I make a quick detour to one of my favorite downtown cafes, Paris Baguette, which is only two blocks from my apartment on W. Fourth Street.

9 a.m.: I take my caramel cold brew and pastries back to my apartment, where I eat breakfast while watching "Modern Family."

11 a.m.: I get ready for the rest of the day by taking a shower, putting on makeup and making an outfit change.

1 p.m.: I walk to Fountain Square to check out the Cincy Cinco Latin Festival at Fountain Square. One of the best things about living downtown is walking to any event or sports game without worrying about traffic or parking.

3:00 p.m.: I walk back home.

3:30 p.m.: I pick up Chika from the vet.

4:30 p.m.: After putting the pup to bed, some friends come by to help me set up for an event I'm hosting later that evening. I recently joined a local Nigerian cultural group Umu Igbo Unite Cincinnati, and we are holding a Taste of Igbo event at my place.

6 p.m.: Taste of Igbo begins around dinner time. The event includes a night of home-cooked Nigerian food, drinks, music, games, dancing and more! We also make several more TikToks for fun.

1 a.m.: The party finally ends, and I head to bed.
