Rea's finds a new home

There's something brewing at one of Swansea's favorite coffee spots. After nearly two years at its quaint Coles Landing location, Rea's food trailer is on the move. According to an Instagram reel shared earlier this week, the popular 566 Wilbur Ave. roadside stop is bringing their same great taste to a new, exciting place. But don't worry Ocean Grove neighbors, it appears Rea’s won't be moving far. In fact, Rea's will be serving up their popular cold brew, sweets and breakfast eats just up the road. In their social media announcement, Rea's revealed they'll be opening soon at a more permanent home at 531 Wilbur Ave., in the space that formerly housed Ocean Grove Burrito Bar. The post teased more details to come, so stay tuned to their Facebook page. Rea's trailer is currently open Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Cold brews, bagels, soups and more: What's the buzz about this new Swansea food trailer

Sundays are for malassadas and fresh bread

Craving a malassada, but don't want to wait for the next Portuguese feast (though you wouldn't have to wait long during peak festa season). Visit Mario's Kitchen Bifana's new location at 314 East Main St., Fall River, and pick up these addicting fried dough treats, made fresh every Sunday. Last Sunday they sold out in an hour and a half, according to a recent Facebook post, so get them before they're gone. But before dessert, why not first get your fill of tasty, authentic fare such as Pork Alentejana or their bifana or cacoila sandwiches. On Sundays, you can also pick up some Pao da Avo — traditional Portuguese rolls also known as papo secos — or a galao, Portugal's answer to the latte or cafe au lait.

Liberty and ice cream for all

This one's for the kids. Time to brush up on their Pledge of Allegiance, because if they can recite this patriotic verse at the Eskimo King window they are in for a treat. Every Monday in July from 4 to 7 p.m., kids 12 and under can receive a free cone of chocolate, vanilla, coffee or twist for reciting the Pledge of Allegiance from memory. It's all part of the “I Pledge Project," a national challenge at participating ice cream shops across the country. Stop by 29 Market St. on July 24 or 31 to get in on the fun.

One of the most versatile ingredients out there, their corn is ripe for the picking and ready to complement any summer dish (grilled, baked in a casserole or on the cob).
