The first footage from Hulu's Reasonable Doubt, produced by Kerry Washington and starring Emayatzy Corinealdi and Michael Ealy, has dropped.

Corinealdi stars as Jax Stewart, who bends the law to her whims to get people out of trouble.

According to the official synopsis:

In Reasonable Doubt, you’ll judge Jax Stewart for her questionable ethics and wild interpretations of the law… until you’re the one in trouble. Then you’ll see her for what she is: the most brilliant and fearless defense attorney in Los Angeles who bucks the justice system at every chance she gets.

As previously reported, the project hails from Kerry Washington's Simpson Street and Larry Wilmore's Wilmore Films.

ABC Studios is also behind the drama with writer Raamla Mohamed; both Mohamed and Washington have overall deals with the studio.

Wilmore said at the time, “The chance to work with a rising star like Raamla, a shining star like Kerry, and a legend like [lawyer and executive producer] Shawn Holley was simply irresistible! I’m excited and honored.”

The series also stars McKinley Freeman, TJ Mixson, Aderinsola Olabode, Tim Jo and Angela Grovey.

Recurring stars include Sean Patrick Thomas.

Simpson Street’s Pilar Savone executive produces with Washington, Wilmore, Holley and John Leshay. Washington directs.
