Rebel Wilson is opening up about how her relationship with Ramona Agruma can be traced back to her “awesome” first kiss with a woman: co-star Charlotte Gainsbourg in “The Almond and the Seahorse,” out this week.

“I had kind of had a situation with a woman before, not a sexual relationship and we hadn’t kissed or anything,” Wilson, 42, told , told The Hollywood Reporter. “But then the kiss with Charlotte came up. I didn’t think it was that big of a deal or anything. Then, weirdly through kissing her in my professional life I thought, well, maybe I should do that for real in my personal life and see how it goes, which I did.”

Kissing the “Melancholia” star, 51, and then meeting Agruma “opened my heart up to it as a possibility” and “changed my love life completely,” said Wilson.

Though she was “so nervous” before kissing Gainsbourg, getting “over that initial [anxiety] of kissing a woman and getting into the scene” made Wilson consider making the moment “a bit more sexy or even go[ing] a bit further.”

Wilson came out this June, revealing fashion and jewelry designer Agruma to be her “Disney Princess,” after the Sydney Morning Herald tried to out the Aussie actress.

Senior journalist Andrew Horney subsequently admitted to “mistakes” in trying to break news of Wilson’s sexuality, which ultimately pressured her to publicly address her relationship.
