Recall: Chocolate raisin snacks sold at Dollar General may contain peanuts

Chocolate raisin snacks sold at some Dollar General stores are being voluntarily recalled for containing undeclared peanuts.

Regal Health Food International, Inc. of Chicago is recalling the Regal Gourmet Snacks Milk Chocolate Raisins 16 oz. tub after milk chocolate peanuts were discovered in a tub labeled for milk chocolate raisins.

The company said this "was caused by an error in processing procedure which has since been corrected."

While no adverse reactions have been reported to the company, they advise that people who are allergic or sensitive to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Where were the snacks distributed?

The recalled snacks were distributed to Dollar General stores through distribution centers in the following areas:

  • Scottsville, Kentucky

  • Jonesville, South Carolina

  • Blair, Nebraska

  • South Boston, Virginia

  • Ardmore, Oklahoma

The recalled product comes in a clear tub and is labeled as "Regal Gourmet Snacks Milk Chocolate Raisins" on top with UPC 028744201002. The "Best By" date is 04/07/24, and can be found on the bottom of the tub.

If you purchased a Regal Gourmet Snacks Milk Chocolate Raisins with Best By 04/07/24 from a Dollar General retail store, you ca dispose the snack or return it to the store.
