Recalled candy bar distributed through Aldi's Florida distribution center
The Food and Drug Administration announced Thursday certain caramel candy bars have been recalled.
It's the latest in a series of recent food recalls that range from Quaker Oats granola bars and cereal to Publix spinach.
Burnt Caramel Candy Bars recalled for undisclosed ingredient
Astor Chocolate Corp. of Lakewood, New Jersey, is recalling Burnt Caramel Candy Bars.
"The recall was initiated after it was discovered the coconut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of coconut," the FDA said.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to coconut run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Florida connection to the recalled candy bars
The product was distributed through Aldi’s Haines City, Florida Distribution Center, which services select Aldi stores in Florida, according to the FDA.
