Record Store Day 2020 Shares New List: Bowie, the Cure, Odd Future, More

In April, it was announced Record Store Day would adjust its programming to account for closures in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the breakdown of releases has been revealed for three new drop dates: August 29, September 26, and October 24.

The first batch includes Robyn’s self-titled 2005 album (on vinyl for the first time), a Bowie live album from the 1974 Soul Tour, Tyler, the Creator’s Cherry Bomb (and its instrumental version), Odd Future’s The OF Tape Vol. 2, the Cure’s Seventeen Seconds and Bloodflowers (receiving 40th and 20th anniversary reissues, respectively), a new live EP from Brittany Howard, a vinyl box set collecting John Prine’s first four albums, an album of unearthed Thelonious Monk concert recordings, the Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy EP, a 5xLP Philip Glass set titled The Essential, and a new pressing of Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom EP.

Also on August 29: Billie Eilish’s Live at Third Man Records, previously exclusive to the label’s stores, will be released on blue vinyl with a poster; Christine and the Queens is putting out two 7" vinyl, titled La vita nuova : sequences 2 et 3, featuring two new songs and their stripped-back versions; Lou Reed and John Cale’s Song for Drella gets a 30th anniversary reissue on double vinyl; Brian Eno’s soundtrack to the documentary Rams will be released for the first time; Paul McCartney’s solo album McCartney gets a 50th anniversary pressing; the Kinks’ The Kink Kronikles comes to vinyl in America for the first time in 35 years; Mikal Cronin releases a companion LP to last year’s Seeker; Kevin Morby releases a live album recorded in Paris; Iggy Pop does the same with his 2004 concert film Kiss My Blood, originally released in 2004; k.d. lang’s Drag and (with the Reclines) Angel With a Lariat arrive on vinyl; Mac DeMarco releases yet more demos from the Here Comes the Cowboy sessions; and Galaxie 500 reissue Copenhagen, the live document of their final show, for the album’s 20th anniversary. There are also reissues from Gorillaz, Slint, Wipers, Sun Ra, Roxy Music, Throwing Muses, and many more.

Releases on September 26 include an Ol’ Dirty Bastard singles box, a reissue of Roger Waters’ concert album The Wall, a 12" reissue of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” an exclusive Tegan and Sara live album, Ryuichi Sakamoto’s soundtrack album to “Black Mirror: Smithereens,” a 3xLP Replacements set, Nas’ God Son back on vinyl for the first time since its 2002 release, a reissue of Natalie Prass’ self-titled debut, and new issues of albums by the Doors (The Soft Parade), Jon Brion (the Synecdoche, New York soundtrack), Lil Kim (9), and Fleetwood Mac (The Alternate Rumors), all on vinyl for the first time.

The final drop, on October 24, features Beck’s “No Distraction / Uneventful Days” 7" (including a St. Vincent remix), and album reissues of Booker T. and the M.G.’s, Miles Davis, Freddie Gibbs and Madlib, Philip Glass, and the Rolling Stones.
