Red Bank Catholic Suspends In-Person Classes: Report

RED BANK, NJ - Red Bank Catholic High School is the latest Monmouth County school to suspend its in-person classes this week, according to the school website's calendar.

As initially reported by Red Bank Green, the website’s calendar indicates “no classes” on Friday as well as “virtual learning begins” on Monday, Nov. 9. In-person classes are slated to resume on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The private school also reportedly canceled Friday night’s football game against Raritan at Count Basie Fields “due to COVID-19 exposure,” according to a Thursday night report by Shore Sports Network.

"Due to three positive COVID-19 students this week, the Department of Health has recommended we go to virtual instruction and suspend all athletics and extracurricular activities for 14 days," RBC Athletic Director Joe Montano told Shore Sports Network on Thursday night.

The private school’s website also notes that the HSPT Placement Test scheduled for Nov. 7 is now postponed to Nov. 10 and Nov. 24. Some students will be eligible to take the test virtually on Nov. 21.

Neighboring Red Bank Regional High School announced on Nov. 4 that it would be suspending in-person classes and activities through Nov. 13 due to four positive cases in the school community. Read more: Red Bank Regional HS Moves To All Virtual Classes For 2 Weeks
