Red Cross Distributes Masks to US Military in Italy

The American Red Cross distributed masks to US military families stationed at an Army garrison in Vicenza, Italy, on Monday, April 6.

Soldiers were restricted to the base in March as Italy shut down due to the coronavirus. They were urged to “stay vigilant” to stop the spread of the virus after Italy extended restrictions until April 13.

In a Facebook post, the army said it has received 2,000 cotton, reusable masks that would be distributed to more than 300 soldiers and their families.

In this video, children are among the volunteers seen going door-to-door at the base handing out masks.

Volunteers are seen telling soldiers these masks can be hand-washed up to 12 times.
