Red Raiders sweep Brown, stay undefeated

For the second day in a row, the Texas Tech Red Raiders (8-0) swept their opponent after defeating the Brown Bears, 25-14, 25-18, 25-16, on day two of the Adidas Invitational at Tudor Fieldhouse.

Tech had an impressive offensive performance after recording 46 kills on 95 attacks for a .337 hitting clip. In addition, the team collected 39 assists, six aces, seven blocks and 45 digs.

Senior Kenna Sauer led the offensive charge, almost putting together a double-double with 15 kills and nine digs on the day. Junior setter Reese Rhodes was also close to having a double-double as she totaled 33 assists, eight digs, two kills, an ace and a block.

Maddie O'Brien posted the highest hitting clip of the game (.600) after tallying six kills on 10 attacks. Senior Reagan Cooper posted the second-most kills in the match with nine, while adding two more blocks.

Middle Brooke Kanas had a great offensive day after collecting six kills for a .500 hitting clip, while fifth-year senior Karrington Jones also added seven kills, a team-high four blacks and an ace. Defensively, sophomore libero Maddie Correawas all over the court as she posted 18 digs, only one away from her career high of 19.

After picking up a win at home earlier in the week, Texas Tech hits the road for a Sunday matinee matchup with North Texas. The Red Raiders (2-2-3) will look to string together wins for the first time this season as they take on in-state foe North Texas. Powered by goals from Peyton ParsonsMacy Schultz and Ashleigh Williams, Tech doubled its goal total in the 3-0 win over Houston on Thursday.

The Mean Green (4-2-1) started the season with four consecutive victory before losing two of its last three contests. UNT has also allowed eight goals over its last three matches.
