It's time for Boston Red Sox superstar Rafael Devers to get the recognition and respect he deserves.

The 24-year-old third baseman is not the household name that Fernando Tatis Jr., Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ronald Acuna and Juan Soto are for most fans, but that might finally change with Devers performing at an elite level on the MLB postseason stage.

Tomase: The most improbable trip to the World Series seems within reach

Devers hit a sole home run in Monday night's Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the Houston Astros at Fenway Park. It was the final run of Boston's 12-3 win to take a 2-1 series lead.

This homer resulted in Devers setting a new MLB postseason record, as explained in the tweet below:

Devers is batting .303 with four homers, 11 RBI, six walks and nine runs scored in eight 2021 postseason games.

Devers is able to become an unrestricted free agent before the 2024 season. The Red Sox must do everything possible to get him signed to a long-term contract extension before that point. He should be a cornerstone of this franchise for many years.
