Red Stick Mom shares Valentine’s Day gift ideas

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Valentine’s Day is February 14. For many people, it’s a day to celebrate romance and show appreciation to others with gifts and flowers.

Parenting resource group, Red Stick Mom shared some of their Valentine’s Day gifts ideas including king cakes, cookies, flowers and plants.

Nicole Vidaurre, of Red Stick Mom joined Reggi Marion in studio and highlighted some of those ideas.

The best Valentine’s Day gifts for her

Vidaurre talked about the Boudin King Cake from City Pork, some cakes from Eloise Market and Cakery as well as cookies from Crumbl Cookies.

She also talked about some greenery including a house plant from Louisiana Nursery and a bouquet from Hummingbird Floral Studio.

Vidaurre also spoke about socks, a door wreath and spa days as options for gifts on Valentine’s Day.

This year, the National Retail Federation projects that total spending on significant others is “expected to reach a record $14.2 billion.”

A survey from the National Retail Federation shows what people are planning to buy this year:

  • Candy: 57%

  • Greeting cards: 40%

  • Flowers: 39%

  • An evening out: 32%

  • Jewelry: 22%

  • Clothing: 21%

  • Gift cards: 19%
