Red-tail Land Conservancy receives $5,000 grant to restore habitat, improve trails

MUNCIE, Ind. — Red-tail Land Conservancy has received a $5,000 MTN DEW Outdoor Grant.

The grant will provide funding to remove invasive plant species from Munsee Woods Nature Preserve in Selma, and to add wayfinding and interpretive signage as part of ongoing efforts to improve wildlife habitat and outdoor recreation experiences in exploring Red-tail’s accessible natural areas, according to a release.

Red-tail Land Conservancy is one of 40 nonprofits to receive the grants through the MTN DEW Outdoor Grants program, for which more than 1,000 organizations across the Midwest applied, the release stated. The effort by MTN DEW is part of a long-term commitment to help community organizations across the U.S. that have faced funding and volunteer participation challenges due to the ongoing pandemic, and to provide outdoor enthusiasts with more access to the great outdoors by helping remove some of the key barriers.
