UPDATE: Redding firefighters at house fire on Reservoir Lane

Redding firefighters extinguished a fire in a vacant house Saturday morning in the 2500 block of Reservoir Lane near East Cypress Avenue. The first firefighters on the scene said the house was completely on fire. Flames also scorched a wooden gazebo behind the building, Redding Fire Department Investigator Ron Krznarich said. The house was surrounded by residences and close-by neighbors were evacuated after the fire broke out about 11:10 a.m. A second alarm was issued to bring more firefighters to the scene. Krznarich said the house was boarded up and hadn't been occupied for years.
