Redding Readies Coronavirus Vaccine For Eligible Residents

REDDING, CT — The towns of Redding and Bethel are combining resources to establish a local COVID-19 vaccine clinic, which is expected to open by the first week of February. Redding is accepting advanced registrations now for eligible residents, whose names will be placed on a waiting list. They will then be contacted to schedule an appointment when vaccines become available.

Redding is now accepting advanced registrations for individuals in phase 1b who are 75 and older. Vaccine supplies are very limited, and officials currently do not know exactly when appointments will be scheduled.

Residents may register online here. Click the "Vaccine Info" link at the top of the page.

To register by phone, residents should call the Bethel Vaccine Infoline at 203-794-8523. The line is staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Senior Center staff is ready to help seniors with the form. They can be reached at 203-794-8593.

In addition to Bethel's soon-to-open local clinic, there is also a statewide registration system in operation now. The Vaccine Administration Management System involves a multi-step process in which residents must first register with VAMS and request admission into the system. Once approved, applicants will receive a separate email with an appointment request link based on their age group. The clinics available may be outside the town.

The VAMS system may be accessed online here. It is separate from the new town registration system. Residents are free to use either of the two systems.
