It's Opening Day! Festivities for Cincinnati's favorite unofficial holiday kicked off bright and early Thursday ahead of the Cincinnati Reds' home opener.

The Reds play the Pittsburgh Pirates at Great American Ball Park at 4:10 p.m. Todd Frazier will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and Reds pitcher Hunter Greene will be the team's Opening Day starting pitcher.

Reds drop Opening Day game | Priates 4, Reds 3

Jonathan India hit a double and it seemed as if the Reds would summon some Opening Day magic in the bottom of the ninth inning. That wasn't the case as the Reds went out in order after India's double to the left-center gap.

Pirates take lead in top of 8th inning | Pirates 5, Reds 4

Oneil Cruz hit a sacrifice fly to plate the go-ahead run for the Pirates in the top of the eighth inning. The Reds couldn't answer and now have three outs left to win on Opening Day.

Jason Vosler ties the game | Reds 4, Pirates 4

First baseman Jason Vosler tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runners on thanks to a triple to right field.

The hit and two RBI were Vosler's first with the Reds.

Hunter Greene unable to finish fourth inning | Pirates 4, Reds 1

Pitcher Hunter Greene left Opening Day after 3 ⅓ innings, giving way to reliever Fernando Cruz, who then was relieved by Alex Young. The Reds gave up three runs in the top of the fourth and now trail.

Pirates strike back with home run | Reds 1, Pirates 1

Pittsburgh Pirates Oneil Cruz tied the game in the third inning with a solo shot to right field. Reds pitcher Hunter Greene was credited with a pitch clock violation before he left a fastball in the zone for Cruz.

Reds score first | Reds 1, Pirates 0

Cincinnati Reds second baseman was the first Cincinnati Reds player to plate a run as catcher Tyler Stephenson helped him score via sacrifice in the bottom of the first inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

India also had the first hit of the season for the Reds.

Reds pitcher Hunter Greene finishes first inning with two strikeouts

The Cincinnati Reds opened the season with Hunter Greene on the mound and he didn't disappoint in the top of the first inning.

Greene earned two strikeouts while giving up one walk in the top of the first to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The longstanding Findlay Market Opening Day Parade kicked off at noon. The 1.4-mile route began at Findlay Market on Race Street, traveled south, and turned left on Fifth Street before ending at Taft Theatre.

With game time in sight, Reds fans flooded The Banks and outside Great American Ball Park.

How to watch Reds vs. Pirates

Local 12 (WKRC-TV) will broadcast the Reds' home opener against the Pirates starting at 4 p.m. The "Reds Live" pregame show will air on the channel from 2:30 to 4 p.m.
