Many Redstone Arsenal employees will telework Friday following sewage line break

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (WHNT) – Employees at Redstone Arsenal are being asked to stay home and telework Friday after a sewage line broke.

On Thursday afternoon, Team Redstone reported that a sewage line near Martin and Mills Road had broken. Around 11 p.m., they said that the break had expanded and impacted most of the installation.

Marshall Space Flight Center’s new Director Pelfrey says he is ‘honored and grateful’

Command Leadership has said that all organizations and agencies on the arsenal either implement “maximum use of telework’ or liberal leave.

“Every effort must be taken to limit adding additional sewage into the system. If not, sewage could eventually start backing up into some buildings.”

Below is a list of hours for different services available on the arsenal:

  • Fox Army Health Center – Closing at 12 p.m.

  • School Age Services – Normal operating hours

  • Java Café – Closed

  • All other FMWR Facilities/Services will remain on normal operating hours
