​Redwood City Toy Drive Organizers Enlist Public Support

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Local first responders are enlisting the public’s support for the annual Redwood City & San Mateo County Toy & Book Drive.

The event will be modified this year with social distancing guidelines amid the coronavirus crisis, but organizers aim to keep up the annual tradition of bringing holiday presents to children in underserved communities.

Last year, over 50 local businesses filled 60 donation barrels with over 12,000 toys that went to around 500 families in need of assistance.

Toy barrels will be open for donations at local businesses throughout the city and at all Redwood City Fire Stations, the Redwood City Police Department, Woodside Fire Department, San Carlos Fire Department, The Fair Oaks Community Center, The Redwood City CHP Office, and associated San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office facilities or buildings.
