Regal Cinemas is closing 39 movie theaters including locations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

According to CNN, Regal Cinemas parent company Cineworld filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after the pandemic “devastated the industry and public screenings.”

Fenway Stadium 13 and RPX in Boston is among the locations in Massachusetts closing.

Concord 10 in Concord is the New Hampshire location closing.

In a filing this week, Cineworld said it is ‘”planning to reject leases for the 39 theaters beginning February 15, saving the company $22 million annually,” according to CNN.

Regal Cinemas is the second-largest movie theater chain after AMC Theaters.

After these closures, around 500 locations will remain throughout the country.
