Region 7 Class B Boys Basketball Tournament Heats Up

Mar. 1—HAZEN, N.D. — Only a couple of area schools came out on the losing end of the Region 7 Class B Boys Basketball Tournament here on Tuesday, Feb. 28, with the others advancing from the first round to the quarterfinals.

The Beach Buccaneers routed New England, 72-49, and that win sets up a semifinal-round matchup with area rivals Dickinson Trinity, which won a play-in game versus Parshall-North Shore, 59-53, on Feb. 27. Meanwhile, Heart River outlasted Grant County/Mott-Regent to the tune of 56-49 and set up a showdown with Beulah. On the other side of the bracket, #1-seeded Bowman County — which had a bye — will face off with the Killdeer Cowboys, who beat Hettinger/Scranton, 68-59, while Glen-Ullin/Hebron will face Hazen on their home court.

All the quarterfinal games will be played in Hazen on Monday, Mar. 6.
