Registration for Little Manchester Road Race begins Oct. 1
Sep. 19—Registration for the Little Manchester Road Race will open on Oct. 1, the Manchester Road Race Committee announced Friday.
"It's a lot of fun for the kids, and it marks the start of our race week activities prior to the Manchester Road Race on Thanksgiving Day," Manchester Road Race Committee president Dr. Tris Carta said in a release. "The number of entrants is limited, so we are urging everyone to register as soon as possible."
The Little Road Race will be held Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. on the track at Manchester High and is open to kids 12 and under.
It will feature "run for fun" races in multiple age groups. All participants will receive medals and a long-sleeve shirt.
Entries will be limited to the first 1,000 participants that sign up. Registration is free, but runners are requested to bring two non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Manchester Area Conferences of Churches food pantry.
In addition to the race itself, the event will feature other entertainment including live music, a truck display and a skydiving exhibition.
The Little Road Race precedes the 86th running of the Manchester Road Race on Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. Registration for the Manchester Road Race is open.
