The 28th annual YWCA Carnation Golf Scramble, a major fundraiser for the YWCA of Alliance, is planned Aug. 4 at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Lexington Township.

The event, held in association with the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival, will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Four-person teams will compete in a Florida – or step-aside – scramble.

All proceeds benefit YWCA of Alliance and their programs, such as Meals on Wheels, ABCs for Kids, and clothing and housing for women.

A number of games will be held during the event.

Ted’s Auto Sales is sponsoring a Hole in One contest, with a $1,000 prize for the first hole in one. In addition, Ted’s is offering prizes of $100 for closest to the pin on each par-3 hole.

Prizes also will be awarded to the best men’s, women’s and mixed teams. There will also be several proximity contests by flight. Skins, mulligans, 50-50 drawing and raffle items also will be available.

Cost to participate is $75 per person, which includes golf fees, coffee and donuts, range balls and picnic lunch. The event will have a maximum of 32 teams.

Entry forms can be found at www.tannenhaufgolf.net. If you cannot play but would like to help, donations can be sent to YWCA of Alliance, 239 E. Market St., Alliance, OH 44601.
